10% National unemployment and holding steady. Since the economy went into a tail spin beginning late last Summer 2008 the unemployment line has grown its longest in 26 years. All the same Wall Street and the banks in general have come through but corporations and small businesses let go and froze jobs over the last year and are not hiring despite the leveling of the financial markets. The President convened a conference with dozens of corporate Ceo’s and business leaders from around the country to discuss how to climb out of the current jobless recovery. Many economists do point to the 3rd quarter of 2010 as the date that a full recovery will begin.
