The majority leader Harry Reid appears to be indicating he can get a public option that is a government backed insurance plan through the Senate but it would be left to the states to decide if they want to include or exclude a public option that can compete with private insurers.
My 2 cents tells me its a disgrace that republicans can continue to take sides with insurance companies over Americans. If this is going to be a mandate for all Americans to purchase insurance I sure as heck want to have every option available to me and that includes a government backed public option. I don’t believe for a second that the private insurance companies have the peoples heart at interest when all this time over the last 100 years they’ve had plenty of opportunities to offer affordable health insurance to Americans.
