One Week Till The Pennsylvania Primary…ARE YOU READY?

In seven days nearly 4 million registered democrats go to the polls in Pennsylvania. Currently Hillary Clinton holds about a 9% point lead but that lead was in double digits two ago and Obama has made some real strides in the state. Hopefully everyone that wants to make a real change this year will come out and support Obama on April 22nd.

A win on April 22nd would be great but, as a consolation if we can keep her win in single digits and nullify the popular vote Obama will have won a moral victory and thus keep his popular vote and delegate lead out of reach for Hillary Clinton. This will weigh heavy in the minds of Superdelegates who in the end will vote themselves and put I believe Barack Obama over 2023 delegate votes and the Democratic Nomination.

While Clinton continues to apply her \”kitchen sink\” attack strategy, Obama remains focused on the issues that matter to ordinary Americans. Here\’s our new response to Hillary\’s latest attack ad…

\’Obama HQ opens in Guam capitol\’

by Christopher HassTuesday, April 15, 2008 at 04:47 PM

Democrat presidential hopeful Senator Barack Obama\’s Hagatna campaign headquarters officially opened up this afternoon. Never before has anyone hoping to become a presidential nominee for their respective political party ever set up official headquarters on Guam. But with the current race between senators Hillary Rodham Clinton and Obama so tight, every delegate vote counts.

Guam campaign director for Obama for America Josh Tenorio told KUAM News, \”The opening of our office definitely gives them a pipeline for direct information from us so that they know what kind of things are valuable, important and necessary for Guam to have from the federal government.\”

… Tenorio says local volunteers are running the bulk of Obama\’s Guam Office, like Carlo Dizon. Though originally from Guam, he was working in a law firm in China when he first started following the Obama campaign. So when he heard an office was opening up on Guam, Dizon decided to return home to support it. \”In terms of the island, it just puts us on the map,\” he shared. \”I think unlike any other election in the past and also as a young person I feel it\’s an extraordinary opportunity whether or not you support Senator Obama\’s platform or issues that being involved in a presidential campaign is something. I don\’t know if it\’s something I can do in my lifetime.\”

Tenorio says they\’re in search of more volunteers, so if you\’re interested in helping out you\’re urged to call 477-2000. The Obama Campaign Headquarters are located on the ground level of the Captain Building in Hagatna.

\’Hoosier kids get to play 3-on-3 basketball with Barack Obama\’

by State UpdateMonday, April 14, 2008 at 07:35 PM

From the Associated Press:

Two students from Indiana schools will have a chance to play three-on-three basketball with presidential hopeful Barack Obama.

High school students who registered 20 people to vote and university students who signed up 30 new voters for Indianas May 6 primary were eligible to be chosen for the game.

Obamas campaign announced Monday that Marion High School junior Blake Hancock and Indiana University-Kokomo freshman Kory McKay have been chosen to play.

Hancock will select two friends to match up against Obama, McKay and one other person. The date of the game has not been decided.

Thirty-eight other students from around the state who helped in the Obama campaigns voter registration effort will also be invited to meet the Democratic senator before the game. The campaign said Indiana was chosen because of its rich basketball tr

Obama was a member of Hawaiis championship high school basketball team in 1979. A recent YouTube video clip shows him casually sinking a three-point shot at a school gym in South Carolina during a visit to promote his education policies.

Obamas campaign staff said the game would likely be played according to standard three-on-three rules, in which the first team to reach 11 wins.

Obama is battling Hillary Rodham Clinton for the states 72 electoral votes that are still needed to sew up the Democratic nomination for president.

Details for Obama Visit to Greenville Thursday

by Zachary Scott EdwardsMonday, April 14, 2008 at 06:43 PM

Raleigh, NC The Barack Obama campaign in North Carolina announced today the details of Thursdays rally for eastern North Carolinians. We will invite voters from across eastern North Carolina from Elizabeth City to Wilmington to take part in the event in Greenville.

Im proud that Senator Obama is the first candidate to hold a major event in eastern North Carolina this year, said Congressman G.K. Butterfield. It shows Obamas commitment to the eastern part of the state and to addressing the unique challenges that hardworking families in the region face. He is proving once again that he\’s a unifying leader who will speak for all of us, from the mountains to the coast.\”

The trip builds on last weeks release of Senator Obamas economic plan for North Carolina a detailed, 47-page book including proposals to eliminate unfair tax loopholes for companies that move North Carolina jobs overseas, relief for homeowners hit by the housing crisis, a middle class tax cut that will benefit four million North Carolinians, and other investments to strengthen the economy. Click the image below to download Senator Obamas plan.

We hope you can join us for this special event in Greenville as we kick off One-Stop Early Voting across the state. One-Stop Early voting is easy and you can register to vote and vote all at once, from May 17th through April 3rd. Even if you are not registered to vote or you have never voted before.

Please click the image below for details of Obamas stop in Greenville and to RSVP. Additional information about the town hall in the Triangle area will be announced soon.
