Something To Watch Tonight:HBO’s “THE PACIFIC”

The creators of the World War II epic mini series “Band Of Brothers” are premiering a new 10 part mini series tonight about U.S. Marines during the war with the Empire Of Japan in the Pacific.

There’s one observation about the battles in the Pacific with the Japanese soldier and that is you won’t see  pictures or videos of mass Japanese soldiers surrendered and being walked back to the rear. Only about 3% of the Japanese soldiers ever surrendered in the battles of Tarawa, Iwo Jima, and Okinawa it was  brutal warfare and the carnage can still be seen today along Pacific islands.

“The Pacific” premieres tonight March 14th on HBO.
