The President out today on the west coast visiting small businesses and encouraging entrepreneurship and investment for America. Also, yesterday  the President visited a clean energy plant in Wisconsin to stir support for clean and renewable energies.

Congress Set To Take Up Energy Comprehensive Legislation…

  Unlike the healthcare reform legislation energy comprehensive legislation may get some bilateral support in Congress. Th main issue I hope is pushed is avenues so this country doesn’t become so dependent on other countries for our energy needs. Also I’d like to see a push for more alternative energy sources if that means building power lines for wind energy or building  more stations just for alternative energy such as hydrogen and electric. Hopefully congress will get proactive beginning this week and show the American people good things can be done in Washington and the good of the people.

I expected a drilling from Congress to bp executive Tony Hayword but instead Texas representative Joe Barton comes out and apologizes to bp for the White House request that bp set aside $20 billion dollars to the victims of the gulf oil disaster and the clean up of the beaches and marshes. I can’t understand some republicans when they can visibly see the damage being caused to gulf families yet feel compelled to apologize to bp in behalf of a U.S. Congressman. Rep. Joe Barton why don’t you go to work for bp and start another oxdung public relations team in behalf of the oil spill?

Obama to address nation over US oil disaster…

President Obama will address the nation on the complex and enormous disaster shaping up in the Gulf Of Mexico from bp’s undersea oil spill. The President will speak at 8:00 pm est from the Oval Office of the White House.

Deep Sea Drilling Still Science Fiction?

Another deep water disaster looming?…

Yes we can drill 5000 feet and then another 3 miles under the seafloor to get to oil and natural gas deposits but what’s quite evident is if something goes wrong down there the technology is limited to what it can do in such depths. Sure bp has a high-tech command center in Houston with all the latest remote operating submersible technology and communication equipment but, with all of this high-tech equipment the oil disaster has shown the limitations the oil companies deep technology is against an oil spill nearly 5000 feet under the surface of the water.

I still think we should continue to explore and drill offshore in shallow waters. We are still very dependent on oil for most everything “unfortunately” and especially foreign oil which we pay dearly for. So I am still in favor for offshore drilling for oil in depths that are under 1000  feet but until technology and safety is advanced deep water oil drilling should be reexamined.

April 21st- Anchor-handling tugboats battle the blazing remnants of the off shore oil rig Deepwater Horizon. A Coast Guard MH-65C dolphin rescue helicopter and crew document the fire aboard the mobile offshore drilling unit Deepwater Horizon, while searching for survivors. Multiple Coast Guard helicopters, planes and cutters responded to rescue the Deepwater Horizon’s 126 person crew.
